The following represents the Professional Development and other work that involves the elementary schools and the middle school during early release days.
Elementary
9/23 and 1/27: Coordinated focus on Differentiated Instruction. All the other 1/2 days at the elementary level are used for parent conferences.
Middle
10/15 Cross discipline writing scoring/also collaboration and preparation for curriculum nights11/5 Parent conferences for underperforming students or "at risk" students11/20 Anti Defamation League presentation of A World of Difference program1/27 In-house PD on writing across the curriculum areas / expository writing area of focus for technical writing in science3/18 Mini workshops led by teachers for teachers - topics and list TBD3/24 Department Professional Development run by curriculum coordinators4/29 Writing part two - the second assessment is scored, compared to the first and data are reviewed.
