"Add a Little Class to Your Life"

August 27, 2008

Dear Friends:
We are pleased to present the Fall 2008 Adult Education Booklet. We welcome back many favorite classes such as Ballroom Dancing, and are delighted to offer new and exciting ones, such as: Archery; Beer Tasting from Around the World; Cardio Kickboxing; Ice Skating for Adults and also for Tiny Tots; Sauntering In Sharon; Wedding Planning From Start To Finish; Yoga Flow for Runners, Cyclists, and Athletes; and Lifetime Income Strategies. As a self-supporting program, we must maintain a minimum enrollment to meet our expenses. However, we have made sincere efforts to offer high quality and varied classes at affordable rates of tuition.

We are genuinely interested in your comments, as well as ideas for future bulletins. If you wish to teach a class yourself, or suggest one, contact us at our office located at 77 Pond Street. Please use our telephone number, (781) 784-AdEd (2333), or FAX us at (781) 784-1541. You can also view or download our offerings at www.sharoncommunityeducation.com.

Thank you for supporting Sharon Adult Education, and best wishes for the fall and back to school. As always, remember to: "Add a Little Class to Your Life."

Sincerely,
Philip Sinrich
Director, Community Education

1. The Adult Education Program must be operated on a totally self-supporting basis. Expenses can be no greater than the amount collected through registration fees. Classes that do not have sufficient enrollment to pay the cost of conducting the course cannot be held.

2. Please refer to the Course Description for starting dates, and times of classes.

3. Refunds of registration fees will be granted only when a class is filled or canceled.

4. We do not send confirmations. Should a class be canceled due to low enrollment, you will be notified prior to the first meeting. If you do not hear otherwise, assume that you have been accepted, and that your class will be in session.

5. NO CLASSES will be conducted if the regular day school is canceled, or not in session. In case of inclement weather, please watch WBZ (TV 4), WCVB (TV 5), or WHDH (TV 7) for status of class.

6. Senior Citizens (65 years of age and over) may enroll in most courses for a fee of 50% of the full tuition as space permits, after our minimum expenses are met. Computer classes, Golf, Red Cross, and a few indicated others are not discounted. Tuition only is reduced, not materials cost or fees. Discounts do not apply to one or two day/night classes or trips.

7. Town Employees will be eligible for an employee discount based on the policy voted by the Sharon School Committee on April 24, 1991. (See below)

8. Participation in Adult Education classes and/or programs is for individuals who are at least eighteen years of age, and are no longer enrolled in high school. Exceptions for educationally compelling reasons may be made at the discretion of the Director.

9. PLEASE NOTE: A SEPARATE CHECK AND REGISTRATION FORM IS REQUIRED FOR EACH COURSE, PROGRAM, OR TRIP.

10. If paying tuition by check or money order, make it out to:
"TOWN OF SHARON - COMMUNITY EDUCATION"
MAIL TO: Philip Sinrich
